The Complete Saga
Book Collection
Following the Cataclysm, Krynn is plunged into centuries of chaos, famine, and political ruin. The gods seemingly abandon the world, and magic becomes feared or forgotten. Faith shatters, and the people turn to survival. This is the era in which the Chronicles trilogy begins. The return of the dragons and the rediscovery of divine and arcane magic signal a slow but vital rebirth of hope. The War of the Lance becomes a pivotal event, restoring balance to the world and reuniting mortals with the gods. Still, wounds from the Cataclysm run deep, and the struggle between good and evil remains far from over.
Caramon, Sturm, and Tasslehoff, on an innocent ship's errand, are blown thousands of miles off course by a magic windstorm and transported to the eastern Bloodsea. Caramon and Sturm are left for dead while Tasslehoff mysteriously turns against his friends. . . .
Back in Solace, Raistlin convinces Flint Fireforge and Tanis Half-Elven that they must make a perilous journey to Mithas, the kingdom of the minotaurs. Their task: not only to rescue their friends, but also to defeat the elusive Nightmaster.
The Companions brings the cast of the Dragonlance series together for their first adventure. Author Tina Daniell wrote the best-seller Dark Heart.
The Companions, the sixth and final volume in the Meetings Sextet of the Dragonlance series, tells the story of how the core group of future Heroes of the Lance—Tanis Half-Elven, Flint Fireforge, Raistlin and Caramon Majere, Sturm Brightblade, Kitiara Uth Matar, and Tasslehoff Burrfoot—are brought together through danger and destiny.
The story begins with Caramon, Sturm, and Tasslehoff boarding a ship for what seems to be a routine errand. However, they are thrown drastically off course by a magical storm that leaves their ship stranded in the Blood Sea. Caramon and Sturm are thrown overboard and presumed lost, while Tasslehoff is captured by minotaurs who, mistaking him for a wizard due to his possession of the magical herb jalopwort, take him prisoner.
Back in Solace, Raistlin receives a mysterious and unsettling message about his missing friends. He convinces Tanis and Flint to join him in traveling to Mithas, the island home of the minotaurs, in hopes of rescuing them. Their journey is fraught with peril—traveling across dangerous terrain, through a magical portal into the savage land of Ogrebond, and encountering a half-ogre named Kirsig, who unexpectedly joins their cause.
Meanwhile, Caramon and Sturm find themselves enslaved in the minotaur kingdom. Caramon befriends a wingless Kyrie, a member of a race of intelligent bird-like beings, who helps him escape. Sturm remains in captivity, enduring harsh treatment. Tasslehoff, under the influence of a magical charm potion, begins to behave out of character—hostile and uncooperative—making any potential rescue even more complicated.
As the group converges in Mithas, they learn of a dire threat: a dark cleric known as the Nightmaster plans to sacrifice Kitiara in a ritual designed to summon the dark god Sargonnas. Raistlin, ever the schemer, offers himself as a replacement in the ritual, buying the group time to organize a rescue. In a daring assault, aided by Kyrie allies and their own ingenuity, the companions disrupt the ceremony. The Nightmaster is cast into the volcano prepared for Sargonnas’s arrival, stopping the dark ritual and triggering a massive eruption that scatters the minotaur forces.
With the danger passed, the companions regroup and reflect on their journey. Though much remains uncertain—particularly how Kitiara came to be involved with the Nightmaster—the ordeal has forged a deep bond among them. They are no longer just wandering adventurers, but a true fellowship destined for greatness. This formative adventure lays the foundation for the trials and triumphs that await them in the saga to come.
